This Privacy Policy explains how SafariBid Technologies Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website, mobile application, and other online products and services (collectively, the "Services"). By using SafariBid, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Profile: Name, phone number, email address, and profile picture.
  • Driver Data: Driving license, NTSA/Police clearance certificates, vehicle logbooks, and insurance details.
  • Payment Data: Mobile money numbers (e.g., M-Pesa), bank card details (processed securely by third parties).

B. Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage Data: Ride history, bidding preferences, and interaction with the app.
  • Device Data: IP address, device model, OS version, and unique device identifiers.

3. Location Data Usage

SafariBid collects location data to enable essential features such as finding drivers near you, calculating fares, and tracking rides/deliveries in real-time.

For Drivers:

We collect your location data even when the app is closed or not in use (background location) if you are 'Online'. This is necessary to dispatch ride requests to you from nearby passengers. You can disable this in your device settings, but it will prevent you from receiving trip requests.

For Riders/Customers:

We collect precise location data only when the app is open and on-screen to help drivers find your pickup point.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our transport and delivery services.
  • To match riders with drivers using our bidding algorithms.
  • To process payments and facilitate the &quote;Cash on Delivery&quote; remittance.
  • To verify your identity and maintain the safety of the SafariBid community (e.g., facial verification for drivers).
  • To send you updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

With Other Users: Riders see the Driver's name, vehicle details, and rating. Drivers see the Rider's pickup location and rating.

With Service Providers: We share data with vendors who help us operate, such as Payment Processors (M-Pesa, Paystack), Cloud Hosting (AWS), and Map Providers (Google Maps).

For Legal Reasons: We may share information if required by African law enforcement agencies or in response to valid legal requests.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit (SSL) and at rest.

7. Your Rights & Account Deletion

Under applicable data protection laws (including the Kenya Data Protection Act), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
